Drains can become clogged easily and can eventually clog the pipe. Something to help prevent this is to watch what you put in them. Smart, eh? This includes cooking grease, coffee grounds, hair, or left-over food.

Regular cleaning is another great prevention method.

  • Run hot water through the sink after each use and on a normal basis, toss a handful of baking soda in to be washed down (keeps products running down the pipes rather than building up on the walls of the pipe)
  • Pour 1 cup of vinegar down the drain and let it soak for around 30 minutes, then wash it down with extremely hot water (removes build-ups or any scum)
